Counter Point Music is a music school for children started by Yohan Marshall in Mumbai, India. He wanted to create a logo that embodies the core idea of what counter point music stands for as well as connect the idea of having children play their heart out at the school. Counterpoint is a style of musical writing which involves intertwining two or more melodies. Each individual melody is an independent, musical idea, and the emphasis is on the separate strands of melody, on the horizontal axis, rather than on the harmony, or vertical axis. Since this was a school for children, The concept of building block resonated with that of what counter point music stands for. I used the idea of arranging building blocks and how they help children develop many skills to create a logo. The logo system has a motif option as well. To optimise the digital approach to the logo I also created some motion graphics loops for the identity.
